BENEFITS OF 3M WINDOW FILMS
Solar window film derives the majority of its value from its ability to reduce thermal energy coming in from your windows whether you are applying your window film commercially, residentially, or on your car. But it does quite a bit more than just that.
REDUCES THERMAL ENERGY
Window film is an investment in your home or building that produces great returns. Windows account for roughly 30% of all the heat that gets inside of a building or home. Solar window films can reject over 80% of that heat, reducing your energy costs significantly. Complete returns on the cost of your project can be expected within four to six years - but your savings don't stop there. You can expect those same returns the next 4-6 years, and the next, and the next. Where else can you find a return on investment like that? Window film not only provides comfort by reducing heat, but also helps to reduce excessive energy costs and takes the load off of HVAC systems extending their lifespan and lowering their maintenance costs.
REDUCES EXCESSIVE GLARE
Window film's ability to prevent glare may be as valuable as its ability to reduce energy consumption. Natural light is essential for workplace productivity. Nobody wants to work in a box. Though, nobody can work when they can't see their computer screen because of the glare of the sun, either. With window film, on top of all of the money you can save on your energy bills, you can give your employees a better work environment by eliminating glare and keeping your natural lighting. If you're wondering just how powerful natural lighting is for productivity, check out this study. Natural lighting is proven to enhance mood, productivity, learning, creativity, and even sales - but most employees don't get enough! So, let's get rid of those blinds!
REDUCES FADING & UV TRANSMISSION
Ultraviolet light wreaks havoc on your furniture, wood floors, decor, and anything else it lays its beams on, accounting for 40% of the fading spectrum. Window film prohibits over 99% of all UV rays from entering through windows. This means protection from fading and protection for your family. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, UV light is highly correlated with the development of skin cancer. Window film has the ability to protect both what and who you care about most. Window film also provides great reductions in solar heat, which amounts for another 50% of the fading spectrum. We do not know of any other product that offers the kind of protection that solar window films provide your home or building and what's inside.
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA:
DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY
2017 Building Efficiency Initiative:
Integrated Controls Package for High Performance Interior Retrofit
The United States' DOE Building Technologies Office has invested over five million dollars into projects that will improve the energy efficiency of commercial buildings in the United States. Commercial energy expenditure is an immediate problem, accounting for roughly eighteen percent of the energy consumed in all of the United States. One hundred and eighty billion dollars were spent to power commercial buildings in just 2014. The DOE has proactively taken a stance to reduce commercial energy consumption throughout the United States, recognizing its impact on the lives of both current and future United States citizens. The Integrated Controls Package for High Performance Interior Retrofit Project, one of the five projects, names commercial window film providers as a key partner in contributing to this initiative. Commercial window film is an economical solution to reducing energy consumption, especially compared to alternatives such as low-e glass, often offering higher percentage based ROI's than solar panels. With returns in half the amount of time. Commercial window film is so highly regarded by power companies, such as Duke Energy, many offer dollar-per-square-foot rebates for those who apply commercial window films meeting performance standards. Irresponsible management of our resources not only directly impacts millions of American's financially, but also the quality of the world that these Americans will raise their children in. We vow to do our part in the High Point, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem area.
